Wat Thai Bhavana

Wat Thai Bhavana – Ballarat Monk Buddhist Meditation Centre

Inspired by the four stages of Buddha, each space was designed to evoke a different emotion and symbolise the four stages of Buddha’s life, nativity, enlightenment, first sermon and nirvana. Lush ferns and plantings can be noticed to symbolise the birth of Budha whilst a deciduous birch forest was used to depict nirvana. Wat Thai Bhavana is based in a colder climate and therefore significant consideration was given to include Indigenous plants whilst interweaving oriental plants that suit the climate, colour and palate. This beautiful garden will be open to the general public post-construction.
